Tomorrow is my last day to do nothing

Because I start work on Tuesday! I'm excited, it means I might actually get to meet people who live around here. So it's a big deal. Also for some reason DC decided it wanted to be all over TV this year. Anyone else notice that?

Today I went for a walk in the wooded area behind our complex. It was really nice, it was toward the end of the day so everything was cooling off. It was just right, Star loved it.

Let's hope tomorrow I'll be fully recovered, we're going to the city to visit The Shrine.

Ouch. Today I went to the American History Museum with my mom. If your in town soon, I recommend going to the Abraham Lincoln museum. There's a load of crazy cool stuff in there.  Like this flying Pikachu.

I saw my first Firefly today

We have this mini-swamp behind our complex and there's a bunch of fireflies all over. It's so exciting! We also have some woods, so Calvin and I took the dogs for a walk in the woods. It was fun, but I'd prefer not to go at night as it's scary and I always think serial killers lurk in heavily wooded areas, and/or Sasquatch.

So far the weather has been super weird. It always stays humid, but randomly during the day we'll have a thunderstorm, then it just goes away after a few minutes.

I haven't actually been into the city yet, but maybe we'll go this weekend. We have plenty of time to get to see everything.

Good Morning Baltimore!

I haven't moved to the east coast yet, but I've already started my campaign to move Baltimore, apparently Fairfax is the sticks (but the locals call it a city). Then if we end up moving there I will camp out in front of Charm City Cakes (Home of Ace of Cake) and beg for a job.

Today is St. Patrick's day. You know what that means? It's ignoring personal space day. This lead up to a number of 2 Panic attacks within 30 minutes of each other. Lame I know.

As this move to DC approaches I find myself remembering every little bit of the East Coast trip I went on in 8th grade.

Take for instance when we went to the Hard Rock Cafe In NYC for dinner and started dancing quite obnoxiously to "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" By The Darkness. On the table. (The Teachers didn't find out cause they were on the first floor while my friends and I were seated on the second.)

And who could forget when the tour guide thought I boy when we were on the Lexington and Concord tour. Classic.

Every night of the trip my friends and I would prank call this guy we all had a major crush on. Every call we told him we were this one girl that we could not stand. I regret nothing.

We ended the trip with a mini-dance in a boat that sailed down the Potomac River. And showed those Midwestern teenagers we shared it with how the kids from "The Springs" get down.

OH! I just remembered the flight over. I had to sit next to one of the teachers cause we were seated in alphabetical order. And jus as we were about to take off he turns to me and says "Don't talk to me. At all. Not for any reason. During this entire flight." I didn't realize until I was in high school that he was joking and just trying to make small talk.

P.S. Who else is excited for the movie KICK-ASS? I don't know about you but this definitely looks like a must see. Though I'm kinda bumped that the lead Aaron Johnson the guy playing KICK-ASS, who by the way is only 19 (like yours truly), knocked up his girl friend (who directed Nowhere Boy, in which he starred in as a young John Lennon) who just happens to be 42. WTF MATE? My mother is only a year older then this women. I see something really wrong with this.

Reasons Natalie Cowan Should Move to DC: Reason #1

Well you all know that I will be moving to Washington DC very soon, but not many know that my Best Friend Natalie was invited, by my mother aka THE BOSS, to come and live with us. Natalie and I have been talking about it and she is considering it. She asked me to list a few reasons why she should come and join us on the east coast. Per her request I have done this in video form.

We have a date people!

The Jaramillo will be out of California by March 29th of this year. Though I will be staying behind to finish out my semester so I will be leaving by the end of May. I am both very excited and very sad. Sad because I will be leaving behind all of my friends that I have made over the years, but excited for the new adventures to come.

Luckily all my family lives in the surrounding area. This means I will be able to visit during holidays.

So first things first I've got a full sized Easel for sale, it has a little drawer attached for sale. Sorry no freebies here, best offer gets it. Oh and we'll be having a bunch of garage sales coming up. I'll keep you posted. I think the first will be this weekend.

It's Official

I'm going to DC, with my fat dog and black cat in tow. Sadly I'll probably have to find a home for my other 2 cats, Phillip and Naboo. This breaks my heart but I have to they'll end up running off the minute we arrive. So if you know of any people looking to adopt some cats I've got two house-broken somewhat loveable cats. 

So school started up again this week, and my god I am exhausted. It's not the work load it's the 'getting use to the new sleep schedule' that's killing me. It's to the point where by 2 pm everyday I have a really bad migraine, that if I apply pressure under my eyes it FRICKEN hurts. And then I'm torturing myself by not allowing for naps. This way I can get use to getting to bed at a good time. I don't let myself go to sleep til after 9 so I can be up at 7 the next day. UGH... But I'll get use to it eventually I suppose.
